Februry Newsletter

Dear Friends.

I pray this newsletters finds well, prospering in every good will. Its only been over 2 weeks since I got back to the Mission field in Mexico, from my trip to Africa and Europe. Its just funny to say sometimes i not only remember how all the places where I go look like, but I also try to rememeber how the atmosphere scent is like..

Missionary outreaches
I have spent the last few weeks really praying, planing and preparing for what I have heard God say, and beliving Him for this year.
The Delicias ministry is really runing very well, last weekend we had a missions trip there, it just seems like am always somewhere on the road! We went with the youth group from the church in San Pedro, to have a meeting, and hike in the mountains.. We had a small party to which we invited people to, about 57 people turned up, which is 20% of the village’s population.

It gave the oppotunty for the people to ask differnt questions about Christianity, and most of them promised to come back. Cecar the youth Pastor and I are planing to do this kind of thing aleast once every 8 weeks, to get the villagers exposed to different Christians and the sharing of testmonies ratehr than just from me.

Future plans
Starting off this year with praying and fasting last month, One of the things that God put into my heart is planting another ministry in a near by village to Delicias. Since I got back I have been making invasgations about most of the villages nearer to Delicias. For those of you who want to know exactly where I live and where the villages are, you can google them on google maps. Below is the information about where I live and the location of the villages.
1. Torreon Coahuila de Zaragoza (This is the biggest city near San Pedro)
2. San Pedro de las colonias, Coahuila de Zaragoza (This is where the Tolman’s ministry is, and whereI live too)
Villages
3. Nuevo Delicias: San Pedro COAH México ( This is where I curently run the ministry)
4. San Francisco: San Pedro COAH, MEX (This is a perspective village. It is biger than Delicias in terms of land scale, however has a population of about 40 people only. Its main land is owened by a business tycon who is based in Torreon, He practices irrigation and grows stuff like potetos on the land. So most of the people if not all in San Francisco, are his workers.)
5. La Margalita del norte: San Pedro COAH, Mex (This is another village, I haven’t been here yet, but I was told it has a population of about 200 habitants.)
6. Mala Noche Coahuila de Zaragoza (This is another perspective village. I havent been here yet, but I know someone who lives in San Pedro, and has a mudy house there. I am planing to go there next week. The population in the village is about 250-300 people, but this is way much in the desert than even Delicias from the main road.

According to my reserch, Mala Noche(means bad ngiht) might be the most convinient village to plant my second ministry. This is beacuse I know someone here already who will be introducing me to the residents, so that they know who I am. I heard the reason why the village is called “Bad night”, is because sevaral years ago a rock exploded at night creating a pit which has a circumference of about 900meters. The village not having any water sources, the pits is used for collecting rain water when it rains, whihc is used through out the year. Being a desert, here it only rains 3-5 times a year.. Am sure sometimes the vilage runs short of water!
Thank you very much for all of your support and prayers, I am so glad to have you joining me as I go out to reach these unreached people in the villages for Christ. For those of you who would like to be a part of what God is doing here in anyway, please send me an email and let me know.

The only inconvinience I recieved from my travelings was the Mexican boader immigration contral. Questioning about my status in Mexico as my intesions to stay in the country don’t really seem short term. I need to apply for a Visa form known as an FM2/3. This form gives me an indefinate leave to remain in the country with no time limit. So I have started the process on it.

Some of the things that you can join with me in prayer during this coing month are;
(1) Pray that I will continue to hear God’s voice clearly about the expansion of the ministry.
(2) Pray for the Favour with the Mexican Government
(3) Safety as I go out to these villages in the desert.
May God Bless you richly through out this coming month, one of the encouraging scriptures that has been runing in my mind this entire week, is Psalm 34:8, which says, “ O taste and see that the Lord is GOOD”.

January Newsletter

Dear Friends,

A late happy new year! I hope you enjoyed the season's best through out January and now February.

My time has been great, I left Mexico when it was very cold and dry, landed in England chilly and very wet, actually now in Eastbourne south east of England where I am its all white with snow. I had a wonderful traditional English Christmas with a lovely couple. And spent the new year eve with family and friends in Uganda.

Ministry news
Since my previous newsletter in December, a week before I left Mexico we traveled with the youth and the missionary students to Guadalajara and Tepic Southern Mexico. We visited different churches, sharing testimonies, singing and performing dramas.

The next day on the 22nd December after we arrived back to San Pedro, I boarded the flight to London, where I was until the 29th, then left for Uganda to visit family, friends, preach and plant a ministry.

My friend James Kirungi and I have just planted a ministry we have called “Loveisking-Westlink Project Uganda”. I met James in the Spring of 1999 and we lived together while I was in secondary school in 2001. In 2002 James realized that God was calling him into ministry, but he didn't know what exactly he was to do. Three years later in 2005 he enrolled into a full-time bible school which he attended for a year, God raveled to him that He was calling him to mintier to the people in Western Uganda. This is what we have summed up as Loveisking- Westlink project, our vision is based on Mathew 24:14, ensuring that the gospel is preached deep down in the villages of western Uganda, that “every ear hears” the gospel before the return of Christ.

We planted and dedicated the ministry on the 9th of January after a 2 days tour of Western Uganda and meeting up with the regional pastors.

News from Mexico.
I am in touch with Stephanie in Mexico, One of my friends has been looking after the church in Delicias, and he says its going very well. Last week was 1 year birthday, since I started running the Delicias Ministry.

I must say I have already started missing Mexico, and am very much looking forward to getting back into the missions field.

Prayer
Unlike last year when I started off with prayer and fasting in San Pedro Mexico, this year the same thing, but in different parts of the world! As I have been traveling extensively in Uganda, I have had the privilege of being invited to teach in different meetings, and as a result during the first 2 weeks of the year, I have already ministered salvation to 9 people!

This year I estimate to reach out to 3,000 soul. As you join your faith with mine through your prayers and support, we can see this year to be a year of fruitfulness!

Love is king,
Donald
