Dear Friend,
I pray you are well and experiencing God’s blessings and goodness in your life. “At last!” These are the words that rushed into my mind as I got back into the mission field in the desert stricken north central Mexico. Back pack, and traveling to places had been my life for over 9 weeks of summer, visiting with family, friends and making new friends. The verse “Wherever you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed.” (Deut 28:6) has stood out in my life during the past few weeks. And I am encouraged to know that wherever we are and whatever we do, God has empowered us to prosper in all things.Edgar is a 30 year old young man whom I met on the Mexican-US border near Texas. The day Edgar was born had been in very many ways marked as a “shameful” day in the hearts of his parents. The first glance that his father laid on him; sent the man running outside the hospital in a shock and knocked down by a car! “Premature, disabled, vegetable, incapacity,” this is what the doctors had told his parents. Initially, both his mom and dad were ashamed, but that changed slowly as they saw their son growing naturally. The boy the doctors had said to be a vegetable, was moving. At 3 years, he learned to talk, crawl, at 6 years walking and at 8 started taking himself to the bathroom.
Ministry news
The ministry in the villages is still moving forward and growing. I have already been to Delicias and Reynosa, and the people were awaiting for me anxiously. One of the ladies said, “I woke up this morning dreaming that you had come, and here you are!” My friend Cesar had taken on the responsibility while I was away. Four people were baptized last month and more are being impacted.
On the property in San Pedro, we now have 6 new soccer players living with us. Last season saw us being eliminated in the final, making second place in the league after we had puzzled the entire Mexican 3rd division as we went over 20 games unbeaten! However the major work with the 60 plus boys in both of our professional teams is not the field techniques, but their spirituality. This means discipling new believers into the Kingdom. The boys who recently come to Christ have already been baptized! Please continue to pray
1- For wisdom and grace
2- The availability of resources and funds needed for the construction so we can reach our generation for Christ.
3- And for protection and safely as we rest in our savior’s love.
I thank you so much for your prayers and support. You are so much in my prayers and I can confidently say together with the apostle Paul “you are partaker of my grace.” I pray that our heavenly Dad will continue to bless and uplift you in whatever you set your hands on. May you truly be blessed as you come in, and blessed as you go out and in everything you do.
Much love and blessings
Love is king
Donald
