April Newsletter 2010

Dear Friend,

I pray you are strengthened to know and comprehend the love of Christ. Always being confident and trusting in His love to lead you in all your ways.

April has been a great busy month. As we approach its closure, memories of God’s faithfulness and protection are flowing through my whole being. Seeing God’s presence among the youth and Children, getting the gospel in isolated villages and seeing lives impacted for forever. There hasn’t been any better time in my life than this!

Ministry
The village ministry continues to bring light to the mountainous people of north central Mexico. For 2 months now I have been discipling a young man named Habier. We call him Haby. Haby came to the Lord in November last year. He has been suffering from rejection from all his former friends, but now he’s recovering from all that. As he puts his trust in the Lord, he’s getting to know the one who gave His life for him more intimately. Last week Haby and I had a wonderful time with the people in Delicias. As we worshiped God, played, ate and laughed as we fellowshipped with one another. It’s so up lifting to see the villager’s hanger for the things of God than ever before. Reynosa is another village where we run a growing cell group. Every single week more people are desiring God more and more. Not only in their lives, but also they take the gospel to their family and friends in the surrounding villages. I am very humbled to see the glorious liberating power of Christ at work among the people!

Thomas
For those of you who have been following my newsletters for some time; you remember a young man Thomas who I was discipling into missions. At the end of last year Thomas left San Pedro, he joined a seminary school and now runs various village ministries. I spent this past weekend with him as I was invited to give classes at his school. And spending 2 days preaching in one village after another in the State of Durango. It was very humbling as I saw how Thomas has grown spiritually over the last few months, into a young man full of enthusiasm to reach out to the lost. Many were encouraged in their walk in the Lord. Eighteen people said yes to the saving grace of Christ! Praise God!

Football (Soccer) Ministry
Our soccer team Calor-“La Gloria sea a Dios” (Glory be to God) is still enjoying fruitfulness as 1st position in the entire country among professional 3rd division teams. We have now entered in the play-offs finals, with the end of this week only 16 teams will remain. Las week the atmosphere was filled with praise songs, having played one of the strongest teams in our group, and won 12 goals to1!

We know God is behind every game we play. One of our best strikers Willmar who has scored 29 goals so far this season says “before I joined Calor a year ago, I had played in good teams. But none of them ever taught me the most important thing in life ‘having a relationship with Christ.’ This has made me a better player, not only in the field, but out as well. As my trust is in the Lord!” Just like Willmar, the youth have come to know Christ, not only them, but their families are being impacted as well! (On right, Willmar kneeling down for prayer before the game)

Prayer point

I thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. I am convinced daily in my prayers, that all of this is taking place because of the faithful friends like you who stand with me. I am so grateful, and appreciate you so much.

Please continue to pray that God’s goodness and love will lead us in His path of righteousness in all things. That;
1. Christ will be magnified more and more in our lives
2. Be granted all the wisdom needed to make decisions
3. The mighty hand of God’s protection will continue to cover us.

May the glory of God be raveled to you this coming month, as you trust in the loving Father and enjoying all He has for you.

Much love, blessings and Peace
Donald
