November Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings from San Pedro, the desert part of north Mexico. The cold is everywhere and chills in the morning hours are hard to embrace. As we head full swing into the winter, all one craves for is warmth; not just around us, but within the inside of us too.

During the past month, I have been very much captivated by the verse “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”(Rom 15:13)  On my side of the world, although we have chilly mornings, we get some good sunshine in the afternoon. With this sunshine, I want to encourage and share with you. No matter how cold or rough the kind of situation you might be facing in your life that robs your peace or joy, the warm energizing power of the Holy Spirit will uphold you. Just trust your Heavenly Dad.

Ministry News

November was a flying by month, but a busy one. I found myself in more places and more invitations to minister to especially families than ever. I have had parents (who don’t even attend church neither know Christ) looking for me so I could help them to talk to their children. From this, we are seeing a harvest of salvations. One particular youth who has been for the last 2 weeks and continues to be a part of my day, is a 19 year old Chui.

Chui’s birth must have been such a disappointment to his mother, forcing her to dump him at his Granma’s house. At Granma’s Chui enjoyed a parent until 1995 when he was just four. The only mom and dad the young lad had, suddenly died, leaving him homeless and with no one to love him for the next 15 years! By age 8, Chui was a cocaine addict! “With no one to love me, even my own mother, I was desperate.” Chui recalls. At age 13, a concerned auntie alerted the authorities about her nephew’s future, and signed him into a youth rehabilitation Jail until he turns 18 years. While there, he finished his Primary and secondary education. However at the beginning of this year, because of desperation after turning 18 years last year with no one to get him out of jail, Chui went gothic, cutting his veins and tried to escape. This resulted into him being locked up in a cooler-cell for 3 months. He says with a smile on his face~ “I never even smiled or laughed for all the 3 months I was in there!” It was on Friday 19th November when one of his aunties who comes to our church went to get him out, On Sunday that same week; Chui came to church and gladly received Christ.

The young man is now receiving much love from his Christian auntie, and from all of us at church. I am discipling him. As we read the bible, eat and go to the villages together, he’s now tagged my twine brother!

The ministry in the villages is going very well. During November we started a ladies project, by giving out threads for crochet. In return, they sell the products they make to supplement their income. I am encouraged by what I am seeing so for.

Also, last week at Thanksgiving, I was able to give a pair of Turkeys to the ladies who help me in the villages, for domestic poultry farming to surplus their protein in-take in the future or even sell as the birds breed.
