July Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,

It is exactly two weeks since I left the desert mountainous region of north central Mexico headed straight into Eastbourne, south East England home to the second largest population of old people in the entire UK.

My time here has been hectic; it started right after I got here for the first few days, having meeting after meeting with friends. Followed by a week long annual European Conference in Brighton where I was one of the representatives  for the work of Global compassion, which is a “humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and development organization whose goal is to bring relief  to those caught up in natural and manmade disaster, poverty, and deprivation.” The conferences was very encouraging, inspiring and up lifting as God worked through the great speakers. Right after the conference, I headed off to Southampton to attend a weeding of a dear friend Ray Lam. Being spontaneous is like a trade mark to me, but this was a surprise, as I found my name down in the wedding program to open the prayer that would send off the young couple into a lovely time!

Ministry news
I am in contact with my fellow workers in Mexico. God is good and the work continues to bloom for His glory. Right before I left, the soccer team had just finished off a league with the high ranking teams in Mexico’s 3rd division professional, just a week after Mexico won the under 17 world cup. We were also determined to top rank the 3rd division teams and walk home with the title Champion, but only to be knocked out in the final. Not much disappointment, as we still fulfilled the mission as the medallions echoed the title “Sub-Champion.”  God was glorified through each game played! The building project goes on; we are now in preparation for the finishing off. Electric installation will be taking on soon, for more news and photos on the building project. Please click here.

Sponsorships
As we realize the need around us for every child to belong to a family, and have an education. We have just taken on 5 boys on the team,  Jovani and Zihuategui are from the closed up communities in the South of Mexico near Oaxaca. In the May newsletter I mentioned about my travels in the south as we worked to sign on new team players. The boys above are from the Closed up Afro-Mexican “no gospel” communities. Having accepted Christ now, the boys are playing with us, and we are structuring a plan to send the boys to school starting in September. Each boy will need $350 per semester. Please join us in prayers for the funds necessary to send them to school.

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you. A verse prayed over me by a dear loving mom is Zacharias 8:23-Thus says the Lord of hosts, " In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." I pray this will be true in our lives as we serve our generation. Through your partnership, together we are taking God’s love to all nations and all people Seeing Christ in us, may they truly encounter God with Us!  Looking at every way I am a blessings to the people around me and the lives that are touched and changed by the powerful loving grace of Jesus, I know and I am convinced you play a great part in it all and you are partaker of the Grace that the Lord has bestowed on my life. I am so thankful to have a friend like you.

Please continue to pray
1-    For God’s wisdom to over flow in my life as I desire to press toward the high calling and reach out to others every single day.
2-    Pray for the availability of resources and much needed help. Especially as we take on responsibility to care for the children and young people
3-    Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear friend, may you enjoy a blessed month. My prayer for you is that you are encouraged as you let God to be seen in all you do. May you walk in God’s faithfulness during this season.

Much Blessings and Love
Donald

A review by John Lindner, Editor, ANM World Missions Magazine
