November Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,
I thank God for you and what He is doing in our lives and ministries here in San Pedro Mexico. It is uplifting to hear good news, salvation reports, and signs and wonders that God is performing through His servants. To Him be the glory forever! A verse that has been readily on my mind says On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (John 14:20) How good to know and walk in the realization daily that everything God does through us and in us, is because of His never ending love.

With this said, we are right at the edge of 2011. It has been such an adventurous year indeed, with some of the most surprising moments ever in my life. This year alone, I have been able to travel to over 22 destinations for the purpose of the Gospel, and ministered to over 8,400 people! Last night as I was in our new church plant in a village called “Nueva Candelaria,” a lady who has been paralyzed in her legs for months sent someone to let us know that since our prayers last week, she has been able to walk a little! She asked us to go back and pray for her. We prayed not only for her legs, but her salvation too, and a couple of other people. Praise God!
Ministry News
The village ministry is going very well. In Delicias we are planning a Christmas Celebration next week. We are also collecting clothes and other items to give to the people as we are in the middle of a dry cold climate where by at the moment, it gets below the freezing point at night. We will also have goodies for the kids, as most of them never get to experience the joy of celebrating the GREATEST GIFT ever given to us.

Victor’s Story
As God’s goodness keeps on unfolding in our lives, a few months ago, I befriended and got to know a fellow who now comes to our church, and he is my new student in missions. His name is Victor.

Victor is the sixth among 9 children born to a Mexican family. At the age of 9, Victor got involved in all types of anti-social behaviors. For the young boy, he thought this is what an adult did, after seeing his father coming back home drunk nearly every night. At age 14, Victor dropped out of school and went to Monterey about 5 hours away from San Pedro to start work. Which later led to him joining the Mexican forces as a soldier, but this did not control his drug abuse habit, but rather boosted it with more arrogance of power provided by his rank among his fellow army men. This continued for 8 years, until he was kicked out of the army for drug abuse and supply.
As the young man continued his life, the habit drove away his wife, and the 3 children they had had. It was later, that he was confronted by his praying mother who had just received Christ in her life. After countless times when Victor came home in the wee hours, he always found his mother crying with her bible open and praying for him. To which he says “I thought the old lady had gone crazy!” However one particular night when he got home, his mother was simply sited on the table. She said “I release you and let you go from this day forward. You can do whatever you want, it’s your life.”   The words echoed deep in Victor’s heart, which sent him to sob all night long, as he thought, “my wife and kids have left me, and now I am also about to loose my mother.” The next morning, Victor went to his mother, and promised that he desired to seek help. After an appointment with a drug counselor, he was told nothing was wrong with him but the life he has always known was leading him astray. He was given the address of a Christian Rehab Center in Saltillo another City about three hours away from here. From the center, he discovered deliverance in Jesus, and accepted Him as his Lord and savior. Victor served in the Rehab center, until at the beginning of this year.

Victor is now a changed man, and he is so on fire for God. During the last few months, we have developed a deeper friendship, and I am now discipling him into missions. Each week he and I go into villages, and the drug rehabilitation center we run. He is such a passionate deliverance from addiction preacher, and I am excited to have him work alongside me.

Thank you so much
Thank you so much for all of you who responded with your pledge of prayer and support for Alexia (a young girl I mentioned in my October Newsletter: http://www.loveisking.blogspot.com/) I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you. Looking at every way I am a blessing to the people around me and the lives that are touched and changed by the powerful loving grace of Jesus, I know and I am convinced you play a great part in it all and you are partaker of the Grace that the Lord has bestowed on my life. I am so thankful to have a friend like you.
Please continue to pray

1-    For God’s wisdom to over flow in my life as I disciple others like Victor to press toward the high calling and reach out to those who don’t know the good news. May He lead and guide us as we venture into all the ministries He is allowing us to spear head, and be part of.

2-    2-  Pray for the availability of resources, finances and much needed help.

3-   3-   Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear Friend, may you walk in the realization of you being in Christ and Him in you during these last few weeks in 2011. May they be a joy to you, as you look forward to the celebration of the greatest gift ever given us from above. May God’s goodness, love and tender kindness, be yours as you are encouraged to reach out to those who need Him most. You are such a blessings and very much appreciated.

Much love and blessings,

Love Is King,

Donald

October Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,

How wonderful it is going through this year’s seasons.  As we transcend through the fall/autumn to winter, it give me great joy of always looking out for God’s best in and out of every season. The verse “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” (Psalm 34:8) has flooded my mind in recent days up to now.

October has been another great month. Like each October, this is the month I have always made the biggest decisions in my life. I am marking 4 full years since my arrival in full-time missions in Mexico, 10 years, since a 16year old Donald made the decision that he would serve God all his life, and it just turns out to be the month I clock another year on my biological time. On the 15th I turned 27 years young! I am not sure if I should say old, but to borrow an English saying; I still feel like a “Spring Chicken,” I only wonder how a “Winter Chicken” feels like!?

Ministry News
The village ministries are going very well and taking on new heights. In last month’s newsletter I mentioned a new church launch in a village known as “Nueva Candelaria.” The planting went very well and we have so far had 15 people in attendance. The church also in Delicias is experiencing growth. We have had a boost in the children’s ministry and church activities which have lead people to be drawn to the savior. This month we have had 9 people say “YES” to Christ for the first time in their lives! All Glory to God!

Salvation Story
A story that has captivated my heart, and brings the joy deep down within me to surface, is that of a little girl who was father/motherless, but now enjoys the right and privilege of calling someone "Mama." This is Alexa’s story.

Thirteen year old Alexa, brings a smile to everyone around her. Her lovely brown eyes are inviting to discover more of who she is to everyone who speaks to her. But, her story has a terribly sad beginning.

Right before Alexa was born, her biological mother wanted to abort her. However, she was swayed by a lady in our church named Lilly, and she agreed to keep the child on the condition that right after birth the baby would be given to Lilly.

Lilly is a worship leader and a great help to the church in San Pedro.
At the time, Lilly was single and so her parents who live in the south of Mexico decided to take on the little girl into their custody. Alexa has grown up with the old couple, but as they entered their 80’s, they got concerned about Alexa’s need of strong parental support as they could no longer take care of the young girl, and so Lilly took her on this past summer. A few months ago as Lily prepared to receive Alexa, a wonderful brother helped to construct an additional bedroom on her house for Alexa.

As I talked with Lily about everything and taking on Alexa; she mentioned to me how she hadn't been prepared for the financial part of having Alexa with her at this very time. With school fees to pay, medical, and all other welfare necessities a child needs.  At the property, we have all decided to step in and help Lilly with Alexa as a family and church. Lilly and Alexa live here at the property, with her other son Pedro who is 10 years old.
Please pray for Lilly and Alexa, and also how the Lord might lead you to support Alexa. It gives me great joy, and extends my already extravagant smile, as I look at Alexa. A young innocent child who was initially denied the right to live, rejected and abandoned, but with God’s loving care is enjoying the warmly love from a mother’s heart! How lovely is that!? (Above is Alexa’s photo, during a youth camp recently.)

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. Dear Friend, may you taste and experience God’s goodness as we come to the end of this year. May He fill you with his love and tender kindness, as you are encouraged to reach out to those who need him most. You are such a blessings and very much appreciated.

Much love and blessings,
Love Is King,
Donald

Septembeer Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings your way! “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.  Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy. For your ‘fellowship’ in the gospel from the first day until now!”(Ph1:3-5) I am very thankful for your love and friendship that is such encouraging in all aspects of my life, and of those whom I serve here in Mexico.

I arrived back into Mexico over 2 weeks ago, and just dived back into everything. The following day after my arrival was the Mexican Independence. In Mexico, Independence Day is celebrated on Sept. 16. This year we held a special event for “Templo Cristiano Libertad.” After praise and worship celebrations, we formed groups within the congregation and each group was responsible for a booth with an activity and food. Everyone dressed up in traditional Mexican clothing and participated in the evening, which went for almost 4 hours. There were prizes for the best costume, best booth, and best activity. This was a great involvement of the community into the church.

An update; over a month ago the SHM ministry leader and co-worker Stephen Tolman had appendicitis, and his appendix ended up exploding in the inside of him. Had he not had an emergency surgery, that would have been the end of him on this side of eternity. He has had 2 surgeries, with 32 stitches in his stomach. He hasn’t been very active recently, but thank God he’s now back on his feet even if less than 30 minutes a day. But the doctors say his recovery is going to take about 2 months plus. Please pray for him.
Ministry News
The village ministries are going very well in Delicias, Reynosa and I am happy to announce a new church launch in a village known as “Nueva Candelaria.” Nueva Candelaria is a village made up of 53 families, and has a population of just around 345 people. The village is 25 minutes away from San Pedro. My co-workers having identified the prospect of a new church plant, as soon as I got here I was presented the project. After prayer, I went into the village eelier this week, to talk and negotiate with the family who will be hosting the church plant in their house. After talks, it was all about excitement, as the family has always wanted to share the good news with their neighbors about what God is doing today. And now they will be having the opportunity.

Soccer Team
Our soccer team “El Calor de San pedro-A Dios sea la Gloria”(To God be the Glory) is getting back into this year’s season with passion and great anticipation of letting God be gloried this weekend. We are all excited as the players are not just ready physically, but are also trained spiritually as they bring and show forth their God given talent in the field. Please pray for each of them, that they may let God be seen through them, in and out the soccer field.

Future Plans
My speaking engagement diary is filling up for this year. I have been invited to go back to Monterey to preach in 2 different churches, and speak at a radio station at the end of October. I have also just received a confirmation about the Mexican Operation Mobilization (OM) Conference that will taking place in Mexico City in November. I have been invited as speaker. I will be teaching on “A missionary’s life, and His Character!” Please pray for God’s wisdom, and for me to surrender as He leads.

At the beginning of 2011, I announced that I was looking into a trip to Brazil at the end of this year. This has been postponed, until sometime next year. I am still learning Portuguese, and Russian. I constantly look for opportunities to practice.
On a side note, I am happy to report that the “Mission Possible” book has over 80% of its manuscript translated into Spanish. And it’s editing has already kicked off.

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. August Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,

Isn’t it interesting what happens to time when we move about? Right now I am in the middle of wrapping up my time in the UK, to head back to Mexico. God is good on every side as my time has been very fruitful here, filled with re-freshening, recharging inspirations and encouragement from great friends.

My time has also proved to aid more understanding of what I can do better in my work in Mexico and really seek the Lord’s direction. A verse from my daily bible read today states -Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”(Isaiah 30:21) It is very encouraging to know that whatever complication, struggle and hardship you and I can face; our heavenly father will guide us to the answer.

Ministry News
I have spent most of the month of August on meeting after meeting with great wonderful people. As I live I hope to inspire, encourage and prepare others for the mission field and the discovery of God’s direction for their lives and took part in street evangelism. As a result, 5 people are in prayer about coming to Mexico within the next 12 months. 2 for long term missions work, 2 for a period of 6 months and another one for 6 weeks.

Tomorrow I will be joining forces with a new wonderful friend, John Lawson, whose powerful testimony from being a “Bodyguard, kidnapper, extortionist and prisoner” magnifies the grace of God and is a member of the Avanti ministries. Having received Christ as a prisoner himself, he now runs a prison ministry here in the UK. We will be ministering in a maximum security prison for 2 hours, which normally limits 30 minute public-inmate interaction,

Salvation Story Continues #3
This is the continuation of the story of a Mexican young couple (Rosy and Beto) whose story I shared in both my Jan and Feb newsletters. A story of forgiveness, love and marriage restoration. (If you did not get to read the first 2 parts of the story, you can do so by clicking on this link.) http://loveisking.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

As life went on for Rosy, I was able to disciple and know her better. One thing was her consistency, “But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.” (Phil: 3:13) It was very clear that she wanted to move on, despite  what had happened, and she wanted to overcome her past with God’s Grace.

As Beto gave his life to Christ, I started having bible studies with him. Helping him to cope with the guilt he felt from the damage he had brought to his entire family and himself. One thing he always maintained in our conversations is how much he loves Rosy. And really appreciating the above and beyond determination she had taken to protect him from going to jail.

As God always meets us in our weakness, it did not take long to notice Beto’s change in belief and character. Rosy too was so thirsty to know what God had to say in her life by spending up to 4 hours each day in the bible and taking notes and questions for the time when I would meet up with her and Beto.

The Couple grew together in the Lord, building their faith in a loving atmosphere at church. It did not take long for the magnetic sparks that had originally brought the two together over the years took back their job. After talks and seeking the Lord’s direction, the couple decided to reunite under the same roof as husband and wife! Praise God!
Rosy and Beto are active members of our Church in San Pedro “Templo Cristiano Libertad” (TCL), with their two children and Rosy’s mother. Also, a few months ago, I started leading a home cell group in their house, with which the couple are very happy about. Rosy is also very active in the lady’s meetings. She says “I want to know what the Lord has for my life, and to teach it to those who need it most!”

Please continue to pray for Rosy and her husband and family; for God’s grace to keep abounding in their lives.

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you. Through your partnership, together we are taking God’s love to all nations and all people Seeing Christ in us, may they truly encounter God with Us!  Looking at every way I am a blessings to the people around me and the lives that are touched and changed by the powerful loving grace of Jesus, I know and I am convinced you play a great part in it all and you are partaker of the Grace that the Lord has bestowed on my life. I am so thankful to have a friend like you.

Please continue to pray
1-    For God’s wisdom to over flow in my life as I desire to press toward the high calling and reach out to others like Rosy and Beto every single day.
2-    Pray for the availability of resources and much needed help. Especially as we take on responsibility to care for the children and young people
3-    Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear friend, may you enjoy a God directed month as we start another academic year, especially if you are a student, parent or teacher May you clearly hear God’s will as He says “This Is The Way, Walk in It!”

Much Blessings and Love
Donald

July Newsletter 2011

Dear Friend,

It is exactly two weeks since I left the desert mountainous region of north central Mexico headed straight into Eastbourne, south East England home to the second largest population of old people in the entire UK.

My time here has been hectic; it started right after I got here for the first few days, having meeting after meeting with friends. Followed by a week long annual European Conference in Brighton where I was one of the representatives  for the work of Global compassion, which is a “humanitarian aid, disaster relief, and development organization whose goal is to bring relief  to those caught up in natural and manmade disaster, poverty, and deprivation.” The conferences was very encouraging, inspiring and up lifting as God worked through the great speakers. Right after the conference, I headed off to Southampton to attend a weeding of a dear friend Ray Lam. Being spontaneous is like a trade mark to me, but this was a surprise, as I found my name down in the wedding program to open the prayer that would send off the young couple into a lovely time!

Ministry news
I am in contact with my fellow workers in Mexico. God is good and the work continues to bloom for His glory. Right before I left, the soccer team had just finished off a league with the high ranking teams in Mexico’s 3rd division professional, just a week after Mexico won the under 17 world cup. We were also determined to top rank the 3rd division teams and walk home with the title Champion, but only to be knocked out in the final. Not much disappointment, as we still fulfilled the mission as the medallions echoed the title “Sub-Champion.”  God was glorified through each game played! The building project goes on; we are now in preparation for the finishing off. Electric installation will be taking on soon, for more news and photos on the building project. Please click here.

Sponsorships
As we realize the need around us for every child to belong to a family, and have an education. We have just taken on 5 boys on the team,  Jovani and Zihuategui are from the closed up communities in the South of Mexico near Oaxaca. In the May newsletter I mentioned about my travels in the south as we worked to sign on new team players. The boys above are from the Closed up Afro-Mexican “no gospel” communities. Having accepted Christ now, the boys are playing with us, and we are structuring a plan to send the boys to school starting in September. Each boy will need $350 per semester. Please join us in prayers for the funds necessary to send them to school.

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you. A verse prayed over me by a dear loving mom is Zacharias 8:23-Thus says the Lord of hosts, " In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you." I pray this will be true in our lives as we serve our generation. 3-    Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear friend, may you enjoy a blessed month. My prayer for you is that you are encouraged as you let God to be seen in all you do. May you walk in God’s faithfulness during this season.

Much Blessings and Love
Donald

June Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Its just such a pleasure having my mind run through everything that has been taking place and write to you. I pray this letter finds you well and sound in all areas of your life.

Reading my bible this morning in the book of Jude, verse 20 really stood out. “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most Holy faith!”  The text has been such an encouragement to me, knowing we are beloved of our heavenly father, and building up our trust in Him is the best we can ever do.

Ministry news
June was another month full of activities and events. I had a number of invitations lined up to speak in various congregations, where many people where encouraged in their faith journey, and 9 saying yes to Jesus for the first time!

Today marks 2 full weeks having been away from home. I left San Pedro at the end of June to attend the Operation Mobilization (OM) Missions Conference in Guadalajara (Mexico’s 2nd largest city) about 14hrs drive from here. The conference was well attended and organized, thanks Susy Hernandez-a right hand help to the leader of OM in the area. It was very encouraging on my side as I witnessed more people being burdened by the need to reach out to others, and truly being Christ’s representatives. Each individual who attended also participated in the “Pray-Give-Go” Campaign for the mission filed.

As the Conference carpet folded away, I was invited to meet Mexico’s OM leader in Mexico City.  Our meeting was so fruitful, as I was invited to preach in different churches, evangelistic meanings and visiting a number of ministries. One ministry is of a couple who run a very rustic training center with an indigenous group of people called “Mazahua”-and a house for the disabled young people. The ministry is about 2 hrs outside Mexico City, and runs a number of Micro-finance projects such as live stock farming (including rabbits), glass crafting, pottery, making cereal products and a beauty school for the girls to learn hair dressing and much more.
I was very much encouraged personally as I always seek ways I can help this desert mountainous people as I reach out to them with the gospel, but also thinking of ways in which we as the church can help them be in a better state in all aspects of life; physically, socially and most importantly Spiritually.

Village ministry
Having spent 18hrs on the road, as I stepped my foot into San Pedro a group was already awaiting for me to take off to Delicias. I spear headed a team of 14 including a doctor, nurse, psychologist and hair dresser into the desert mountainous village of “Nuevo Delicias.”  For the two days in the villages. We reached out to over 70 families with Medical care, dramas, food, clothes and the Gospel!

Future Plans
At the end of this month I will be taking my annual trip to England.  I am so looking forward to seeing all my friends on the other side of the world. Also I will be attending the Wedding of my Chinese friend Ray (the first guest I received in Mexico.) Ray will be walking down his bride at the end for this month, while preparing to go into missionary work in China.  As a part of my trip I am also planning and organizing book signings for the “Missions Possible” book.  Please pray that God will use me in every place where I will be for His glory to be revealed in, around and trough me and everything he permits me to place my hand on.

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support that you offer me. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you.

1-    For God’s wisdom to over flow in my life as I desire to press toward the high calling and reach out to others every single day.

2-    Pray for the availability of resources and much needed help.
3-    Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear friend, may you enjoy a blessed month. My prayer for you is that you are encouraged to spend time with your heavenly dad as you build up yourself in your most dedicated and sanctified trust in Him.  Whatever your need is, may you count Him trustworthy as you confide in Him and lean on His righteousness. He is Faithfull!

Much Blessings and Love
Donald

PS: Mission Possible Book

“Donald Kamese is a remarkable young man who has learned a lot—and with his approach to life will continue to learn much. Young people—and all people considering life and missions—will benefit greatly by reading his book.”
A review by John Lindner, Editor, ANM World Missions Magazine

I am very happy to report that finally Mission Possible goes into the main stream market online such as Amazon, major distribution channels like Banners and Nobles and Book data bases worldwide making it available to order in any book store/library near you. I am already receiving reports from those who have read the book and have been greatly encouraged to serve the Lord! One missionary from the US said;
“I wish I had known these cultural differences before hand, saving me the frustration of all misunderstandings I have encountered in Mexico.”
