June Newsletter 2012

Dear Friend,

How great and awesome it is sitting down writing to you! Whenever I sit down to write this newsletter, I pray and ask God to guide me through, which makes it alive as I can imagine seeing beautiful faces as if I am right there talking to each one of them. Different locations come into my mind too, settings, and even what kind of day it might be. My day is bright, sunny and cool,  having rays of sunshine penetrating through the curtains, with the transition into this years summer.  This reminds me that no matter how harsh the seasons in our lives can be, God will always have His son in the midst of it all and the end will be glorious as we trust Him.
“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son”
(Gal 4:4)

Ministry news
The ministry in the villages is flourishing by God’s grace on every side. At the beginning of this year I was very much praying for fellow workers and those who will just dedicate themselves to serving God in the far off mountainous villages. Thank you for your prayers, these prayers are being answered even before mid year! Having started with Myrna this year, there are a series of other people with a true servant’s heart who are willing to travel as much as 3 hours each week to come and minister to the people in the villages. As we all minister to the people with different flavors, I am very  encouraged to see people’s lives being impacted and changed. Most recently, we had a mother’s and children’s day celebration meeting. Where many moms turned up with their children desiring to know what the bible teaches about motherhood. Besides ministering to the people’s needs both spiritually and physically, 7 have said yes to Jesus this past month!!

Micro-finance Project.

Over the past year we have helped eleven families in the villages to harness their traditional textile making skills such as embroidery, knitting and weaving. We initially supplied them with some raw materials to produce doilies and table mats for sale in the markets and shops of San Pedro. The ladies are now teaching the younger woman and we are happy to report early sales of their wares have been very encouraging. Forming the DEA(Dios es Amor=God is Love) project has helped to supplement the family income of the participants In this case living on less than $5 a day for an average family. One lady and her family have been struggling financially for some time. As a result, they had resorted on eating only Nopal leaves of a cactus plant. As we give her a bundle of threads, she is able to make crafts. With the income from the sales of her products, she has been able to feed her family better. Other benefits include using the money to buy medicine and other childcare basics such as baby diapers and children's shoes- protecting them from potential health risks.(If you wonder how you can be part of this project, please do get in touch.)

Soccer Team
The soccer team El calor de San Pedro “A Dios sea la Gloria” (Glory be to God) is in Second Division! Having made its way through the 214 of the 216 professional teams undefeated and remaining invincible in all home games, we tied in the very finales to lose by one point in the Mexican professional football-third division last Saturday. However, 2 finalist teams ascend each year from 3rd to 2nd division! As the players shared their testimonies, the gospel is out on national media! To God be the Glory!

Spreading the Word
My travels picked up again this month as we seek to encourage, inspire and train leaders for our generation. We had a very up lifting time at the youth camp. Following was a missions trip I spearheaded into the desert mountains of Durango with 4 Mexican missionaries, 2 Japanese, a Korean and a  Vietnamese. At the end of this week I am holding a leadership conference in Monterrey, and the following week I will be heading to a small town in the valleys of San Luis potosí, with an Indian tribe group known as Nahuatl about 17 hours away from San Pedro. Please pray that God’s wisdom guide us as we hold these conferences, and as the people open up their hearts to receive Jesus!

Thank you so much
I am very grateful for all your prayers and support. I am always encouraged to hear from you and to know how I can also pray for you. Looking at every way I am a blessing to the people around me and the lives that are touched and changed by the powerful loving grace of Jesus, I know and I am convinced you play a great part in it all and you are a partaker of the Grace that the Lord has bestowed on my life. I am so thankful to have a friend like you.

Please Continue to Pray
1-    For God’s wisdom. May He lead and guide us as we venture into all the ministries He is allowing us to spear head, and be part of. May He give us the right words as we encourage those who want to serve Him better.

2- Pray for the availability of resources, finances and much needed help. “For this month’s special request, bibles for the village families.” (For information on how you can get involved by giving to a specific project, please get in touch)

3-   Lastly, please pray for the security situation in Mexico, and as we overcome every challenge we encounter along the way. May we always have a meek and humble heart, always ready to hear God, and walk in righteousness.

Dear friend, may you enjoy this year’s summer in full confidence of the Son of God in your heart, may He always shine through you in Glory. Always knowing He whom you have invested your trust in cannot lie, but see on it that each one of His promises are fulfilled in you.

Much blessings and love
Donald

A review by John Lindner, Editor, ANM World Missions Magazine
